We can offer guidance in compliance to the DDA act as explained below and later incorporated into the equality act. Generally during modernisations and repairs, we can carry out compliance to these acts with little deviation. This make compliance for companies and ourselves easier.

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) was passed into law in November 1995 – the premise behind this is to be an inclusive society, where disabled people and those with long-term health conditions can operate as equals.

Therefore with minor adjustments, lifts can be modified to allow an ease of access for these users.

Before the DDA was introduced there were access issues which prevented many people from using public services, transportation. Also moving around Businesses and Educational centres.

When the DDA came into effect, building owners and service providers were requested to make reasonable provisions to ensure independent and equal access to all persons

Lifts are a a form of transport we use to move around buildings, there are improvements which can be carried out which can make ease of access easier for those who are handicapped.

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), was designed to make public spaces easier for disabled people to access. Businesses of all types are required to make changes to meet these requirements.

The Disability Discrimination Act was incorporated into the Equality Act of 2010. This single legal framework was introduced to ensure no one is disadvantaged or discriminated against.

Meaning that any new building or alterations to an existing building are required to satisfy obligations under the Equality Act.

When undertaking Lift Refurbishments, Lift Modernisations and even Lift Repairs, many time we can passively comply with the equality act benefitting lift users nationwide. New installations require full compliance and is something we offer as standard.
